The Financial Aid Fun Contest Awarded Three Students
The Financial Aid Fun Contest, a joint contest hosted by International Student Loan and International Student has come to an end, which means three winners have walked away with $100!
During the month of July three questions were asked, giving current and future international students three chances to win $100. If you missed the three questions and the announcement of each winner, catch up now! The Financial Aid Fun Contest awarded three students $100- see who won!
Round #1:
Question: What is a co-signer?
Answer: “A cosigner is someone who guarantees that if the borrower cannot pay back the loan, they will be legally responsible to pay back the debt. In other words, the cosigner is taking on a huge responsibility for the international student loan or study abroad loan since they are being asked to accept the responsibility of paying back the total loan amount plus any interest.”

Please keep in mind that scholarships are different than loans. Scholarships you do not need to repay, while loans you do. You can find more information on international student loans here, and more on international student scholarships here.

Michelle, most of the school grtnas are offered as part of the Federal Student Aid program. Programs like the Pell Grant can range anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand dollars. To qualify, you must fill out the FAFSA application (see it online). If you are looking for private grtnas, you should use something like scholarships.com to see what private grant programs are available for you.
